Time Is On Your Side...If You Use It Right!

What are you doing with all of this time on your hands? Don't you know that time is your most valuable commodity. Once you use it or lose it, you can never get it back. It may be awhile before you have this kind of time available to you again, so what are you going to do?

I believe this is an opportunity for us to refresh and reset. Don't get in the mode of complacency and just engage in a sedentary lifestyle. There is much to be done and much to be considered.

For the married husband and wife, this is a time to renew those connections. The hustle and bustle of life may have caused you to grow distant. Some mornings you may look up and wonder, “who is that person on the other side of the bed?” You may have been living like 2 ships passing in the night, but this is the time to revitalize and rekindle those love flames.

Those of you parents who have children at home, this is a time to pour into them. You may have missed baseball games, basketball games, and cheerleading competitions over the years, but this is the time to remind them how valuable they are to you. Children are in inheritance from the Lord.

Focus on the core values of life. Remind them about being respectful, being kind and considerate, and showing love. These are the types of lessons that will carry your children through eternity. And don't forget to spend time reading together.

For all of us, be sure to spend quiet time in the word! Meditate on the word of God.  Use this time to sit quietly and just ponder the word. Cultivate your relationship with the Lord during this time.  This will help alleviate any anxiety and stress that may try to creep in.

I remember as a young mother I would have to hide in the closet to get just a few minutes of quiet time.  Those were some of the most precious moments that would help me to refocus on the most important things of life; loving God, loving myself, loving my family, and loving others!

If you are finding that time is just passing you by and you're not being very productive, then set a schedule. Just like you would at your job, set a schedule for you and your family. It doesn't have to be rigid with endless tasks to do.  But rather, have a general outline of some of the things you would like to get done with this additional time you have available to you. Of course as you go along, you can adjust the schedule.

Don't waste this precious, valuable commodity. Use your time wisely!
